If you have additional needs I can help

Automatic Driving Lessons

My aim is to make you into a safe and confident driver as quickly and cost-effectively.

I have undertaken specialist training to be able to provide the best possible support for people with additional needs such as coping with dyspraxia, dyslexia and ADHD.  I also have specialised understanding of supporting people with Asperger's and autism. The choice of an automatic is a good one for these people as there is less multi-tasking to content with.

Automatics are also an excellent choice for people suffering with physical disabilities such as arthritis and rheumatism as there is not clutch to operate and no gears to change and therefore less strain on the joints.

I have a relaxed and calm training style, and will give you clear and concise driving instruction that is easy for you to understand. If you do not understand or get something just tell me and I will adapt my training to suit you as everyone learns in different ways and at different rates and no two people are the same.

Support for physical disabilities

I have a range of adaptations suitable for drivers with physical disabilities. This includes:

Cowal Pull Push Hand Controls
Cowal Left Foot Accelerator Pedal
Steering Ball
Lodgesons Lollipop Steering Aid with Blue Tooth to operate the secondary controls eg indicators, horn, wipers etc.

Getting started

I recommend that you undertake an intensive programme of training. You should start with an initial two-hour assessment lesson. It is also a great opportunity for us to get to know one another.

Theory Test

It is best practice to get your theory test completed well in advance of  your practical test. You can find a practice test here on the web and you can book your theory test on-line. I am able to support clients who need help in preparing for this test.

DIA Certificate

"Today I passed my driving test FIRST TIME!!!  Thank you Harry I didn't think I could. I learnt in a manual and just couldn't get to grips with it…swapped to an automatic it was the best choice I could have made - I did the intensive driving course 4days with Harry driving and manoeuvres in preparation for my test on the last day.

I suffer with Anxiety and Severe Dyslexia along with being out of my comfort zone in a huge way. So it makes sense to use someone who knows what you are going through and can help to get you through-
Thanks again Harry!"

Courteney Morphew - Crowborough

"Thanks to Harry I passed my driving test yesterday. I've tried a couple of times over the years but failed. Being in my forties I thought it was too late for me and my anxiety had just got worse. I booked a six day intensive course with Harry. Five full days driving and the sixth day for my test. Harry helped me simplify the way I looked at driving and I now feel much more confident and safe on the roads. I would highly recommend anyone of any age and ability to go for it.
It is intensive but totally worthwhile and great value for money.Thank you Harry."

Kim McDonald - Gravesend

"Today has been one of the happiest days for me, passing my driving test. I would never have done it without the instruction and support of Harry and I couldn't recommend him highly enough to anyone looking to pass.

I have had a long and personal struggle with driving and Harry has given me the opportunity to not only have confidence but to also enjoy driving, something which I never thought I would do.

Without Harry, I would also have never met the wonderful Julia Malkin who helped and supported me and more importantly taught me about my dyspraxia condition, thank you so much Julia.

It has taken me a long time but it has been worth it for how I feel today. I thank Harry for all he has done, he is the best instructor I could have ever have wished for."
